After such a great year, CRP and WINDFORM® launch a brilliant news for
2007: the new exclusive service for its best customers, called “WFF: WINDFORM® Full” service
and created overall for all WINDFORM® powders’ end users and that will
surely interest all the owners of an SLS machine willing to sinter
WINDFORM® materials, in order to manufacture high performing
particulars in the easiest way as possible.
Here are the details.
2006 highlights
2006 has been a very important year for CRP, owner of WINDFORM® brand, having a growth of more or less 60%.
In particular it has been a year of interesting new projects and releases:
- The direct use of rapid manufacturing (RM) and WINDFORM® on road racing motorbikes was exploited to develop a 250cc engine.
- It has been revealed the exact process to manufacture a headlight washer cover flap (of Lamborghini Gallardo) in WINDFORM®, that some years ago allowed the immediate delivery of 100 Gallardo’s pre-production models.
- For the aerospace sector, a Cold Duct Fan was made in WINDFORM® XT ;
- With Penske Racing, the focus was the wind tunnel
repeatability, so a large fender has been fitted on the wind tunnel
model of their Dodge Charger (Nascar Nextel Cup) and compared to the
carbon laminated fender. No differences have been noticed.
- Red Bull Racing (F1 Team) declared to use WINDFORM® both for wind tunnel models and the racing cars.
- Intake Manifolds in WINDFORM® XT have been used by VM Motori SpA for dyno engine tests, instead of the sand cast aluminium intake manifold.
- The famous CRP Rapid Casting (CRP RC) custom process, introduced
in F1 by Minardi and CRP, was fully revealed. And it has been also
confirmed that Peugeot won the World Rally Championship in 2002 with CRP RC Titanium uprights and that Mitsubishi-Repsol won in 2006 and 2007 the Lisbon-Dakar Rally Raid with CRP RC 17-4PH Steel uprights.
Last but not least, the unique partnership between Ilmor
and CRP. Tim Roberts (Ilmor Engineering Ltd) explained: “What Ilmor
does appreciate is a unique partnership made by quality, service and
hi-tech solutions: WINDFORM® XT and precision CNC machining on
aerospace special alloys within a ridiculously short time!”
A year also full of great events for CRP Technology.
On January the Autosport International Fair, in Birmingham (UK), and the Manufacturing for Performance Conference & Exhibits 2006 at Indianapolis (USA) thanks Solid Concepts’ partnership. In June, The WINDFORM® Day took place at Modena, hosted by CRP Technology RP Dept facility. On September Steve Nevey, Red Bull Racing, spoke at the 2006 TCT Conference, at Gaydon (UK), revealing the use of WINDFORM® XT on their racing cars. On November, at Koln (DE) during the Global Motorsport Congress,
Ing. Franco Cevolini, explained the direct use of WINDFORM® to develop
the road racing motorbikes’ engine, while few weeks later, in Frankfurt
(DE), the Euro-uRapid 2006 asked to Franco a paper about the
needs of the motorsport, the aerospace and the automotive sectors,
referring to RM. Again in Frankfurt, during the “International
Conference on Future Industrial Applications of Additive Fabrication”
at the Euromold 2006, Ing. Livia Cevolini, explained a paper
about “Parts That Go on the Final Car”, referred to RM and RC too and
on December in Spain, during the RM Technical Forum, Ing. Livia Cevolini explained a similar paper again.
The WFF service
After such a great year, CRP and WINDFORM® launch a brilliant news for 2007: the new exclusive service for its best customers, called “WFF: WINDFORM® Full” service and created overall for all WINDFORM® powders’ end users and that will surely interest all the owners of an SLS machine willing to sinter WINDFORM® materials, in order to manufacture high performing particulars in the easiest way as possible. Here are the details.
The offer includes the installation and training on the customer’s site of chosen WINDFORM® materials (GT, XT), a User’s guide with detailed and custom “tailored” description of the sintering process, configuration files for 3D Systems sinter stations and custom parameters on-site, both user’s guide and configuration files available for download from the website too.
Moreover, a hot line will be available every working day from 9am to 7pm Italian time, as well as a remote connection with ultra VNC server/client, within 6 hours from enquiry where only the host (customer) will be able to open a connection and will be free to stop it whenever he wants. The client will actually see on his monitor what CRP’s staff is doing. This is useful to understand the parts placement inside the building area, to have the right machine parameters, a “real monitor” to follow up all possible problems, and the upload/download of the files for new configuration files releases and other.
To complete this offer, there is also The WAL (WINDFORM® ACCESSORIES LINE) with the cutting files-training (4 hours included in the installation), the Powder quality file (recyclability), the Tip & tricks (how to shift as quickly as possible from a material to another) and the Guide for 3D Systems machines, whose files and guides are available for download from the website with username and password too.
As optional, there is the safety pack, the kit finishing-training on customer’s site (4 hours included the installation) and the performance kit.
Moreover, there is a “parts back-up” with a customized discount, for example in case of machine stop or sintering problems, and a special discount on annual material’s scheduled supply.
The price of this innovative service is custom based, for further info feel free to contact CRP staff at the following e-mail :
